Gift of Life

I thought it was going to be a quiet week and for me, it was really. However, it has been a big week for my cousin, Rachael. I had hoped to donate one of my kidneys to her and she had just gone back on the transplant list, when a kidney came up! She was called in the middle of the night and told to get to Addenbrookes hospital and all the details were done and about midday next day she went down for her operation. They seemed very happy with the operation and now it's a waiting game to see if everything proceeds as it should. Many prayers are being said by many people. I would like to mention the fact that some wonderful, special individual sadly lost their life for this amazing thing to happen but either they were carrying a donor card or had put their name on the list to be a donor at some point. They've made a fantastic difference. I hope their family knows how much of a difference they've made, at this terrible time for them. I know several people who have been saved by donors of organs and I have put myself on the donor list. You can't take it with you when you go but you can help someone else to live a decent life. This is the website where you can sign up to donate your organs after your death. https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/
